If you know Boulder fairly well, you’ll quickly identify these iconic landmarks in the downtown area.
As I gave titles to these images, I thought of something I had just read. In the article, the photographer was saying that you should try not to name your photographs for what the thing actually is–that is, its location, or the name of the structure, the canyon, the mountain, or whatever. Instead, she said, use a title that says what the image is about. Food for thought, that. It makes you think a bit deeper about why you are actually making the picture.
In today’s two images, I was certainly guilty of initially giving the obvious titles of what these things are. Then, I changed them to reflect what my eye was seeing at the time. It’s a different perspective.
