If you are out and about, snapping selfies of your own personal woeful countenance, consider what very tiny (microscopic!) little critters are lurking on your face–on everyone’s face, in fact: mites.
They are everywhere and in and on EVERYthing. You’ll find them in throats of bees, on turtle buttholes, in bug stink glands, in snake lungs, on the eyeballs and penises of bats…and, of course, on YOU.
To make matters even more gross, consider this quote about mites in your hair:
“Once they’re full size, their entire adult life lasts only a few weeks. Death comes at the precise moment when mites, lacking an anus, fill up with feces, die, and decompose on your head.” –National Geographic, February, 2015, p.80
Just thought I’d start your day out on a fun, happy note.
