Well, truth be told, there are a lot of things I don’t understand very well… fewer things with each passing year.
But, here are two for today:
- Why is it that we think it is normal for someone to receive a salary or compensation of 10 million or 20 million or 100 million (or more!) per year? How is that even considered normal? Yes, a degree of inequality does seem necessary for motivation and innovation purposes, but, geez, have we not gone to an insane extreme?
- Since when did cigarette butts get a waiver from being classified as trash? Why can these things be thrown on the ground, on the beach, into the ocean, etc., but not other things?
Me thinks the world is going crazy.
Or, maybe it always has been crazy…
I’m reminded of: “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this any more!” (Film: Network)
Could the following be a related perspective?… Summed up in a graffiti I saw the other day (translated from the Spanish):
“We work at jobs we hate to buy shit we don’t need.”
Something tells me this current race of human beans is in dire need of more than just a few family therapy sessions. Or maybe a major intervention of some kind?
Happy Thanksgiving! ; )
