The view of Barcelona from Tibidabo is impressive, and the above is what you might photograph at dawn (this morning, actually). Or, looking back over your shoulder…the spectacular Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor:
But, as I look around with my monochrome eye, I always seem to find other images. Like these…
Getting to the Tibidabo summit during normal daylight hours is not a problem, but it is an issue for the dawn photographer. If you don’t have a friend who can take you (or a sister-in-law…moltes gràcies, Anna!), your best bet might be a taxi as the bus, funicular, etc. aren’t yet up and running at the pre-golden hour.
After your sunrise shoot, try walking down to the City via Vallvidrera (stairsteps and trails) and the Carretera de las Aguas, all of which may take you 2-3 hours at a slow pace.
