After 2017, the coal-fired portion of this plant will be closed, leaving only the natural gas-fired section in operation (as it is above). Cleaner air, dontcha know.
Before capturing the above image from Legion Park, I watched the sunrise this morning from “Cherryvale Ridge“. It was quite a foggy affair…
But eventually the Sun broke through the layers and illuminated the prairie grasses and the distant Flatirons…
Then, following the low-lying fog, I made a quick dash over to nearby Sawhill Ponds to witness yet a different kind of sunrise (I have reversed the image for better flow, in case you have been there and are confused)…
