I saw it this morning as I passed by North Boulder Park on my bike. During the last snowfall (a very wet one) someone must have said, “Hey man, I’ve got a great idea. Lets all roll the biggest snowball we can and see how long into springtime it lasts!”
Well, it has been pretty warm over the last few days–into the 70s today–and the thing still had a diameter of four or five feet. It must have taken some serious group effort to roll the thing into its original, unmelted size during that last storm. And thinking about it…given the expertise of the local populace in rolling things of a herbal nature, I guess it was only a natural progression to move up to huge masses of snow. In fact, truth be known, maybe it was the passing around of the smaller rolled item that led to the creation of the larger!
