I was here just a few short days ago, but I couldn’t resist coming back to photograph this wonderful tower built for the 1992 Olympic Games…there is just something quite attractive about it’s sensual form. And there are sooo many possible angles and compositions!
I’ll have to keep coming back under varying weather and lighting conditions to see what new images I might find. (A session of long exposures–with moving clouds–with my 10-stop neutral density filter comes to mind.)
On this day, a slightly overcast sky really helped add some drama as I worked on the B&W conversion in Silver Efex Pro. My lens of choice for all of these photographs was the Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8, often used at the full 14mm.
Here is this latest series…
First, in portrait (vertical) orientation, some views of the overall context, the Olympic Park area near the Olympic Stadium, atop Montjuic:
Now, I focus on the tower itself:
I like the contrail crossing behind the tip of the tower in this one:
Next, I started incorporating a few of the lighting stacks found near the tower, this time in landscape (horizontal) orientation:
And, finally, back to vertical orientation for a final few compositions:
