Off with Dana Bove to Long Lake in the Brainard Lake area above Ward for some photography. Barely an hour from Boulder you enter into a special hobbit world–moist, pine and fir-scented, high country air…lakes, ponds, and swamps…high ridges…crystal creeks…snow patches on the upper summits. If you are lucky, you’ll spot a moose. (We just saw antlers in the brush–already bedded down for the night–and, no, he isn’t in either of these images.)
No wonder this place is one of the most visited along the Front Range.
