When you plan a photography trip here, the idea might be to capture images of plants and flowers, no?
Well, how about this thought…
Unless you are working on a specific project, don’t lock yourself in to a particular genre of photography simply based on your destination and your expectations–leave yourself open to other “suggestions” from the environment.
This past weekend’s sojourn to the Gardens is a great example. I did, in fact, attempt to make pictures of flowers and plants, but my eye kept getting pulled elsewhere.
To wit:
I found it wasn’t a bad place for working on some “street/people” photography…
Then the small lagoon had me working on a reflection series–in color no less!…
Finally, in the indoor tropical building, I did find a couple of more purely organic subjects befitting of the name “botanic”…
