If you are a Goth lover (as in the Gothic style of architecture, not so much the black leather, piercings and tattoos), then La Seu in Manresa, Santa María del Mar in Barcelona, or La Catedral de Santa María de Mallorca might be good choices for your itinerary. All three are classic 14th century works of the architect Berenguer de Montagut (among other designers and builders).
If you want to make your visit to these sites even more meaningful, definitely get a copy of The Cathedral by the Sea, by Ildefonso Falcones, a historical novel and huge bestseller in Spain. The book will mentally transport you to the medieval building site of Santa María del Mar in Barcelona and you’ll therefore get a much better appreciation for the engineering, sweat, toil, politics, finances, life, and death that went into these huge, heavenly structures. (Imagine putting those multi-ton keystones in place at the roof of the nave without a modern crane!)
