Yes, working on the street photography has been fun, but it is still nice to haul out the tripod and the big brick (D800) for some sunrise landscape work, in this case, on the Barcelona beachfront.
When I arrived at first light, the youngsters were just getting out of the discos after a night of hard partying…Germany had beaten Argentina the night before in the World Cup Final, thus they all had a great excuse to consume large quantities of mind-altering substances. There were bottles and cups littering the sidewalks and sand everywhere. Drunks hailing taxis. Boys and girls saying farewell to each other. A friend helping his buddy stagger in the general direction of the Metro entrance.
In the dark bull pen, the giant beach cleaning machines were cranking up, ready to do some critical sifting of the sand by the seashore…just like Mary Ann.
